It all started when Awanui Hamon™ started using Photoshop during his time as an art teacher at Rotorua Boys High School.  Soon, Ozzma as a character appeared in one of their clay modelling classes and Awanui became fixated on creating a world around this aquatic being. As an avid surfer and nature lover, Awanui Hamon™ has an intuitive understanding of the symbiotic relationship between the natural world and indigenous peoples.

 

These insights have all contributed to the evolving story and then refined over the years alongside the art. Fast forward to today... with the help of some amazing international graphic designers and 3D modellers, the world of Ozzma and Kauai has truly come to life. Here is but a taste of the design process.
